With works now well under way on the new Nursling Recycling Facility, near Southampton, plans are being put together to increase our market share for skip hire in the Southampton area.
Construction work on the 20m x 36m three sided steel frame Materials Recycling Facility are progressing well.
Justin Ebbutt, site manager and his team have been working alongside Raymond Brown Construction Southern Division’s site agent, Terry Churchill and senior engineer, Colin Potter, to ensure that the site remains fully operational throughout the contract.
The construction work also includes a number of improvements and remodelling to the existing site such as safety parking zones for vehicles, car parking, pedestrian routes in and around the facility, concrete hardstanding areas, numerous aggregate bays, a double wash-down facility, M&E fit-out, two new weighbridges and landscaping works.
The opening of the new £1m facility in April will enable Raymond Brown Waste Solutions to reduce transport costs and provide quicker access into Southampton which is a major competitive advantage.
Russell Fleetwood, sales director said: “Not only will we be increasing capacity on our existing lorry fleet, we will also be implementing a major sales and marketing push, so that we are able to add an extra two lorries into the Nursling fleet.”
The regular resident liaison meetings in Nursling have provided positive feedback and Raymond Brown has been praised for community involvement efforts and company reputation. Once operational, there are plans for an open day to demonstrate to the local residents how recycling operations are managed and to promote our products and services.
