Neighbours from local and surrounding areas were invited to the A303 Enviropark in Hampshire to learn about the site and its role within the community.

There are two main operations on the site, a materials recovery facility which recycles local non-hazardous construction and domestic waste received by external tipping and the company’s in-house skip business, brownSkips.com and the IBA processing facility.   The IBA processing facility recycles residues from Hampshire’s Energy Recovery Facilities, which diverts it from landfill and creates a quality aggregate, widely used in construction.

Following engagement and collaboration with the local community, which included the site liaison panel, parish councils, local residents, a local college, Longparish Playgroup and other community groups, around 60 people attended on the day and enjoyed a guided walk to the viewing platform, a complimentary burger van and free gifts.

Stuart Harris, Chief Executive commented: “The opportunity to engage with the community and show them the A303 Enviropark, and the contribution it makes to environmental sustainability was very well received.  The event was a brilliant opportunity for us to answer any questions and listen to comments from our neighbours.  There were some really positive comments and also some valuable suggestions which we have already taking on board, such as setting up a dedicated A303 Enviropark information webpage, increasing traffic management measures at the site entrance and providing local residents with discounted skip hire.”
